Sometimes some errors have an easy fix by restarting your pc or by reinstalling the game, while others may be complicated or can be fixed by Riot itself. If any of these problems persist, you can always submit a ticket to riot if you are unable to fix it also, you can check Valorant discord server for any emergent issues.


Below is a list of errors with solutions: 

 

* Error Code 0,1,38:

> Connection Error.

 Solution: Go ahead and restart the game and the Riot Client.

* Error code -1:

> Uninstall failure. 

Solution: Reinstall Riot Vanguard. If the problem persists, please submit a ticket to riot. 

 

* Error Code 4:

> Your display name is invalid.  

Solution: Something's up with your Riot ID. You can change it here.

 

* Error Code 5:

> The account was logged into elsewhere. 

Solution:You should log out from all devices.

 

* Error Code 7:

> Couldn't connect to session service. 

Solution: You might have a suspension on your account. Please check your email for more information. It could also be a platform issue. Be sure to check the Valorant Discord or Support Site banner for more information.

 

* Error Code 8 - 21:

> Problems with the Riot Client. 

Solution: Go ahead and restart the Riot Client.

> This is a network issue. 

Solution: Please make sure your firewall allows Valorant through.

> Failed to get player name information.

Solution: Go ahead and restart the Riot Client.

> Unavailable Server.

Solution for error codes 52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69,70:

Go ahead and restart the Riot Client. If the problem persists, please check the Support Site banners. If there are no issues with the client, submit a ticket to riot.   


* Error Code -81:

> Service Start Failed.

 

* Error Code 128:

> Valorant has encountered a connection error. 


Solution for error codes -81,128:

Please relaunch the client to reconnect. Go ahead and restart your PC and the Riot Client. If the problem persists, uninstall Riot Vanguard and Valorant, then do a fresh re-installation of both. If the problem persists, please submit a ticket to riot. 


* Error Code 138:

> Valorant has encountered a connection error.

Solution: Please relaunch the client to reconnect. Looks like you’re running Valorant/Riot Vanguard from a virtual machine. Since this isn’t allowed, you’ll have to install both on a regular instance of Windows instead of a virtual one.


* Error Code 152:

> HWID ban. 

Solution: This is a hardware ban that typically lasts 4 months. Please submit a ticket to riot.


* Error code 9002:

> This build of Vanguard requires Control Flow Guard (CFG) to be enabled in system exploit protection settings. 

Solution: Please see this article on how to change exploit protection settings. If the problem persists, please submit a ticket to riot.

 

* Error code 9001:

> It is faced by Windows 11 users. 

Solution: Enable TPM 2.0 & secure boot in BIOS. If you have installed Windows 11 by bypassing it then this solution will not work.
